Vera, a middle-aged sign language interpreter, is forced to face the raw reality of the deeply-seated gender issues when, after her husband’s suicide, the tendrils of an underworld scheme begin to surface.
Vera Dreams of the Sea premiered at the 78th Venice International Film Festival, 2021. Among many accolades the film was awarded the Grand Prix at Tokyo International Film Festival 2021 and Ingmar Bergman Award at Gothenburg Film festival 2022.
